Unique belongings to General der Infanterie Helmut Thumm (1895-1977), a recipient of the Knight's Cross with oak leaves. After pulling Hitler Youth boys out of the front lines against an order of Heinrich Himmler, he was relieved of his command of the LXIV. Armeekorps on 20.1.1945. Thumm died in 1977 in Welzheim.
1940 printed book "Mein Weg nach Scapa Flow" by Günther Prien. Given as a Christmas present by Oberst Haußer to Thumm when he still was an Oberstleutnant. Ink dedication "Herrn Kamerad Oberstln. Thumm in treuem Gedenken. Weihnachten 1940, Haußer Oberst". Condition 3. Loose pages.
Three maps. Two large map documenting "Pskow-Ostrower Operation" in 1944 around Riga, Latvia. "Marienenburg-Stellung". 23. Infanterie-Division marked. "23.Luftwaffe-Jägerbatallion" marked. One map which is badly damaged documenting the "Aviakste-Stellung". A very interesting document of late war history.

His personal field desk he used to study his maps in the field. Wood/metal construction. The desk is finished with green felt. 70cm x 70cm. Height: 67cm. Good condition.
An imporant grouping of 1944/45 Kurland war history. Field tables of Generals are shown on many original photographs. In all these years, this is the first time we have seen one for sale.
