Description
100% family purchased M40 Waffen-SS tunic to a SS-Oberscharführer serving with the SS-Polizei Division. The tunic came exactly as it is. You can see slight traces of a cuffband and the arm eagle attached. There are no traces of a breast eagle which had been worn on this tunic. However there might have been attached one when came out of the factory as a Wehrmacht tunic since this is a "three-hole" pattern. Waffen-SS soldiers have worn this type of tunic as period time pictures can proof.

You have traces of the Polizei collar tabs but also of much large collar tabs (the SS collar tabs) which the SS-Polizei Division used to have later in war. The pair of SS-Oberscharführer Infanterie shoulder boards attached 100% belonged to the tunic and definitely have been worn like this. Even if not 100% matching (one got a green backing, one a black) both have been worn on this tunic and both show the same aging. Cotton liner, size markings and H40 1940 dated.

The tunic has been worn a lot. It got some small holes and minor damage. Condition 2-.

A 100% no question true Waffen-SS tunic. Very rare.

We were the first owner of this tunic and originally sold it in May 2011.
