A Prussian helmet (spike helmet) for an officer serving with Garde-Dragoner-Regiment „Königin Viktoria von Großbritannien und Irland“ Nr. 1
Large size Prussian "Garde" eagle front plate (gilt) showing an enameled guard star to the center with the motto "SUUM CUIQUE". The enamel is in fine condition. Parts of the metal backing underneath are damaged.
Removable spike. All studs to the plate in place. Nice gilding.
No extra holes. Spike plate and front badge period time mounted.
Soft leather sweat-band with a fine silk lining. Only a few smaller rips.
"Named" with penceil to the inside. Relatively large size for the time. "58" noted with pencil to the inside.
