Brown wooden handle with inlaid SA roundel and eagle. Because of the special pattern in the handle, collectors call this type "tiger handle". No chipping or cracks. Early nickel fittings. "He" (Hessen) stamped. The scabbard was contemporary brown re-painted and sealed with "Zapon" lacquer. Matching nickel fittings with all four screws.
