A German M40 helmet with a single decal. The type of helmet was issued to Heer, Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, Polilzei and Waffen-SS troops. This example was issued by the Waffen-SS.
Paint: Original factory paint. Around 90-95% still present. minor signs of wear
Decals: Both decals were removed after the war but there are tiny bits of the SS decal helmet proofing this was an issued SS helmet!
Lining: Flexible leather lining. Very soft Original cord. Size 59 marked.
Liner and liner belong together but it looks that the prongs could have been opened once.
Chin strap: Soft leather. Unmarked
Markings: Q66 to the rear
