Rare photo album to LSSAH member SS-Unterscharführer Rolf Schmidt.
Official black photo album of the Leibstandarte. Silver printed embossed - Zur Erinnerung an meine Dienstzeit bei der Leibstandarte SS "Adolf Hilter"- to the front cover. The lower line containing the Leibstandarte unit was overpainted once. That definitely happened after the war. The SS rune sticker shows damage as well. However all is still visible and the damage is not to bad. Original cord as well.
The first photos were taken during the Poland Campaign. One photo is 2.9.1939 dated. All of them are nicely subtitled. Schmidt must have also served with 10..SS-Totenkopf-Infanterie-Reigment 8 in April 1940 as you can find out by the subtitles. There are remarkable photos of high ranking commanders following. However there is a photo to the inside of the cover which is November 1941 and clearly "5./E.L.SS Adolf Hitler" subtitled so he must have sent back to the LAH.
Schmidt added a drawing of himself to the album. He drawed it when serving with LAH as a SS-Rottenführer.
Then, there are a couple of empty pages followed by photos of his time prior to the SS. The pictures start in 1926 and end in 1938. They show him as HJ boy and RAD man.
119 photos inside. 84 photos are SS ones.
Inside was a period time printed Dezember 1940 Christmas card by Adolf Hitler. It was handed out to members of the LAH. The signature is printed as well.
