A German M42 helmet. The type of helmet was issued to Heer, Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, Polilzei and Waffen-SS troops. This example was issued by the Luftwaffe since you can see the shape of a removed Luftwaffe eagle decal which now shows rust.
Paint: A rare brushed period time camo paint. Brown and green color. Still around 80% of the original paint is in place. Aged rust to the inside.
Lining: Flexible leather lining. Still soft. Named.
Opened prongs. Modern paint to the rivets to make the paint of the shell. Replaced liner!
The markings are hard to read. It is probably ET64. Period time named!
