Extremely rare German M18 helmet which was most probably re-issued to the Volksssturm troops. It comes with a rare period time 3-color camo paint sprayed to the helmet. This sort of camo paint was very often worn by troops serving in Normandy in 1944.
Re-issued M18 helmet stamped "R1801" to the dome and "Gr.62" as well as "09" to the side. M31 helmet liner applied. Extremely soft and with its original cord. Size "55" stamped Unmarked chin strap in worn condition. Soft.
While there is the original fieldgrey factory paint to the inside, the outside is covered with a 3-color camo paint. Red, tan and green paint was sprayed to the helmet. There is nearly 100% left. The helmet shows only minor signs of wear to the liner and shell.
