An excellent collection of six photo albums to sailor Kirchner. He served on board the German cruiser "Karlsruhe". From May 1930 to June 1936, the cruiser was used almost exclusively as a training ship for officer cadets on five extensive trips through the world's oceans to inspect the Navy's educational system. The ship was sunk on 9. April 1940.

Four of the six albums document the trips excellently. It shows trips to tropical countries, the United States, Africa, and India. Shots of the commander, the daily life on board, the inhabitants of the countries, the airship "Graf Zeppelin" as well as the rituals of the navy. Furthermore photos of the funeral of a soldier. Unique photo material! The other two albums are showing mainly the civil life of the soldier. However, also Marine related photos.
