Genmaj. von Seckendorff - Knight's Cross recipient field tunic, documents & photos

Beschreibung

Grouping to Knight's Cross recipient Generalmajor Erich Freiherr von Seckendorff (1897 - 1944). He was killed in action on 23. September 1944 near Lagarde, France serving as as commander of 113. Panzer-Brigade. Erich Freiherr von Seckendorff lies buried in Bad Windsheim-Obernzenn, Bavaria.

Heer privately purchased field tunic to Oberstleutnant Erich Freiherr von Seckendorff. It is exactly the same tunic shown on a portrait photo (modern replica) part of this grouping. He also wears his Knight's Cross on that photo. The grouping offers three more original photographs showing him wearing exactly this tunic. Two photos also show his Knight's cross worn with this tunic.

Period time attached insignia. Machine-attached collar tabs. Hand-attached breast eagle. Complete buttons. One quite loose.

Originally attached buttons to the inside of the collar to attach his Knight's Cross. Loops for a ribbon bar as well as his 1939 Iron Cross clasp and one more award.
Fine silk lining. No name tag. A catch to attach his officer's dagger.

Some moth holes. Medium size. Extremely rare.

Original documents:

- Letter of congratulation sent and signed by General der Panzertruppe Hans-Valentin Hube. He sends his best wishes to Freiherr von Seckendorffs engagement.

- A document confirming he was badly wounded and therefore entitled to receive a radio.

- Document "Zur Lage der Pz-Division".

- 3 page letter sent by "Heiner Kreis" on important information on his unit

- 2 letters (hand-written) sent by the commender of Schützen-Regiment 114

- a letter sent by General der Panzertruppe Werner Kempf (Knight's Cross with oak leaf) thanking von Seckendorff for his wishes for the Oak Leaves. Original ink signature.

A personal card.

Replica documents:

Fotocopies of two award certificates, two IDs and one portrait photo.

Photos:

54 original photos documenting his time during WWI and WWI. Several show him wearing his Knight's Cross. The grouping offers three original photographs showing him wearing the tunic which ships with this tunic. Two photos also show his Knight's cross worn with this tunic.

The grouping furthermore contains cut parts of the original graves sashes placed on his grave at the day of the funeral.
