Deutsches Reich 1918 - 1945
Heer Infanterie Feldbluse M43 eines Trägers des Deutschen Kreuzes in Gold

Beschreibung

Heer M43 field tunic for an infantry Oberfeldwebel decorated with the German Cross in gold and other combat awards.

This tunic was period time modified by a tailor due to the personal taste of the owner. Soldiers preferred the more elegant M36 style featuring a dark green collar, dark green insignia and a vertical pocket bar. All modifications were executed period time and definitely prior 1945. The tunic was also a little shortened. The position of the pockets were changed.
Modifications like these are quite common and give this tunic a unique touch.

Collar tabs: Machine-woven EM/NCO boards attached by machine. You can see traces of previously attached tabs.
Breast eagle: Machine-woven officer's/NCO patttern with dark green backing attached by machine through the liner. Another eagle was also attached through the liner by machine and is probably still underneath the visible eagle. It is not uncommon to see eagles attached through the lining at M43 patterns.
Shoulder boards: Slip-on boards attached to the originally attached buttons and loops. White piped boards.

Buttons: Complete. Period time attached. One slighlty loose
Lining: Silk. No damage.
Markings: In place. Unreadable

No moth damage. Nice condition

Medals:
German Cross in gold made by Zimmermann. "20" maker marked to the reverse of the pin. Weight: 67,5g. A nicely worn piece without damage to the enameled swastika.

Infantry Assault Badge in silver. Zinc. FLL marked.
Iron Cross 1st Class. Three-part construction. Unmarked. Nice condition
Wound Badge in black. Rarely "K u Q" and "65" (Klein & Quenzer) marked.
Close Combat Clasp in bronze by Galbonz. Very nice bronze finish. Slightly bend to the left front end. A tiny hair crack to that position.

All medals are attached to period time applied loops. The lower loop fo the German Cross in gold is damaged.
