M1905 helmet

Description

Officer's helmet for a "Kürassier" serving with one of the regiments No. 3-5 or No. 7-8. Typical steel helmet. Nickel-plated. Separately attached front and rear visors with brass reinforcement bars.

The helmet comes with extra holes to the front badge and the top fitting. "Linienadler" front badge for officers with reserve's cross.

(Changing the plate from "Einjährig Freiwilliger" (one year volunteer) to officer or from active to reserve often is the reason for extra holes)

Top brass officer's plate (original?) holding the spike a bit incorrect (maybe for the same reason as for the plate). The spike, however, is correct. Correct curved chin strap attached to the correct "Kleeblätter" (cloverleaves) for officers. Both correct cockades in place. Original color.

Red leather sweat-band with dark silk lining (replaced?). Front visor backed with dark leather, the rear visor with dark blue velvet. Front visor with dents.

Original helmet new completed, one splint pin missing.
