Nice nickel-plated steel blade showing the etched motto "Meine Ehre heißt Treue" and the maker's mark of "Gottlieb Hammesfahr Solingen-Foche".
The black wooden handle bears the recipient's SS number "233722". Original inlaid eagle and SS roundel. It has a small chip on the reverse. Excellent nickel-plated fittings. "III" stamped on the reverse of the lower crossguard. Black re-painted steel scabbard however before 1945 (period time). Around 85% of the black paint is present. The "ball" has a small dent. All four screws are in place.
Includes the black vertical leather hanger. Soft and flexible leather. The RZM/SS mark is hard to read. Signs of use and the lower leather strap is broken. "A" (Assmann) maker marked snap clip. Fully functional. Comes with a leather belt.
