M36 SS Chained Service Dagger

Description

Early M36 chained SS Service Dagger to SS-Sturmbannführer Hans Schneider, chief of SS-Oberabschnitt Mitte. Schneider was awarded the SS Honor Ring and Honor Sword. A rare pattern called a "Septum" pattern amongst collectors. Exactly the same dagger was published in book "The Service Daggers of the SS" by Ralf Siegert.

A nice clean blade. Unmarked, as it is corrected for chained M36 daggers. Etched motto "Meine Ehre heißt Treue". Black wooden grip with original inserted SS roundel and aluminium eagle. A chip to the top of the reverse. Nickel cross guards. Top scabbard fitting and cross guard are both hand-engraved with Hans Schneider SS number: "136730".

Original black painted steel scabbard with nickel-plated fittings. All six screws in place. Including the matching chain. "Neusilber" type A. The chain links display SS-runes and skulls. Septum pattern skulls! "SS" stamped the back. The snap-clip slightly ou of shape but fully working.

Extremely rare pattern.
