A German WW2 period time field bayonet which came of the household of a SS soldier lately. Bayonets are identical for Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS so there is no evidence this example was used by an SS soldier.
Scabbard and blade show matching numbers "8732". The blade is "39" dated and "RICH A. HERDER" maker marked.
The blackened blade and scabbard are in very nice condition. There is no rust. Minor dents to the scabbard only.
Bakelite handle. Various WaA markings (see close-ups). Leather frog for cavalry troops. Maker marked however very hard to read. Looks like 1939 dated.
