Wehrmacht, 'standard-issue'-pattern K98-bayonet being a matching example that comes with its period-attached frog. Both bayonet and scabbard bear the makers'-designation: 'CARL EICKHORN' and are both showing the (serial-)number: '4760'. The piece has brownish-coloured- and 'Bakelite'-based grips and shows the 'WaA'-markings as usually encountered. The piece retains a fair bit of its darker-bluish toned finish and only shows moderate wear and/or age: it has been stored for decades and shows some (rust-) staining and dirt: it was, however, never cleaned. The brownish-black-coloured frog retains all its four aluminum- (ie. steel-) based rivets and shows an impressed makers'-designation (that is regrettably impossible to read). The frog is used but is fully souple and functional.
