Wehrmacht wind protection goggles

Description

Personal flight goggles of Walter Hübner. The rubber around the glasses removed. It looks to me as if it had melted. Original aluminium transport box.

Size:11.5x6.5cm.

Signs of age. Condition 3.

Please see pictures for more details.

Walter Hübner served with the Imperial "Fliegertruppe" in WW1. Later in the Third Reich he also served with the Luftwaffe and the DLV. After his military service and the end of the war, he worked for the PFL (Propulsion Field Laboratory) as an aeronautical engineer. The facility tested rocket engines for the US space program from 1949 to 2006, including the F-1 engine used on the "Apollo" program.
