Heer M16 helmet (transitional)


Description

German M16 helmet. Generally, a WW1 period design, this type helmet was occasionally re-issued to German troops after 1935. Both, Heer and Luftwaffe M16 helmets are known.

M16 helmet shell with "apple-green" paint covering nearly 100% of the shell. The shell was painted after 1935. The inside was left out.

Decals: The eagle decal is about 95%. It was slightly damaged when being attached. The national decal is nearly 100%.

Ring: Inner ring from metal. Attached with custom made rivets.

Lining: Very soft leather. Cloth pockets with content. A very old cord was put through flaps.

Markings: Q66 marked to the shell.

The chin strap was custom-attached by riveting to the shell. The helmet cellulose varnished period time.
A 100% period custom-converted helmet dating back to 1935.
