A German M35 helmet. The earliest type of helmet issued to Heer, Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine and Waffen-SS troops. This example was issued by the Heer during the war.
Paint: Original "rough" factory paint. Around 70% still present. Some rust.
Decals: The eagle decal is about 60%.
Lining: Still flexible. Original cord. Damaged.
Unopened prongs. The liner is original to the shell.
Chin strap: Soft leather. Markings visible.
Markings: ET64
A bullet from close distance must have hit the helmet from the front. According to the consignor the helmet was brought back home as as a piece of remembrance by the soldier having survived in close combat.
