A very rare German M18 helmet which was issued in the 1930s to Allgemeine-SS troops. Black factory paint!
There is a SS unit stamp to one of the leather pads which is however hard to read. You can clearly red "Sturm" and "SS-Standarte" but the numbers are hard to make out. It could be "40. SS-Standarte".
Furthermore, there is a thick red ink SS "dome" stamp to the shell.
Original leather lining with matching strap strap. Both damaged. One of the rivets holding the liner is also damaged which is why the liner is only held by two rivets.
