Heer M18 helmet (transitional)

Description

A German M18 helmet. Basically, a WW1 period time designed helmet model which was however rarely ssued again after 1935 to both Heer and Luftwaffe soldiers. The shell received an M34 helmet liner most of the time and was painted with fieldgrey color. One or two Wehrmacht decals were applied.

A family purchased helmet never available on the market before. This helmet was found in Luxembourg.

This example comes with full factory paint. The shell however shows signs of wear, age and some rust.
Decals: Both decals in place but clearly worn. The eagle decal is about 65%. The national shield around 45%.

The liner is still flexible. The prongs of the rivets were never opened. The liner is original to the shell.
Size 56

Chins strap: Partially dry. Signs of use and age.
Markings: No markings to the shell visible.

This helmet was damaged during battle. Shell splinters went through the right side of the helmet and damaged the shell, bolt, inner ring and lining.
Untouched!
