Extremely rare M38 paratrooper helmet. Not only for its period time camo paint but also for the size. The shell is ET71 maker and size marked and comes with a size 59 marked liner. A quite large size which is hard to come by.
M38 shell with a ET71 maker and size stamp as well as a "71" lot number stamped to the reverse. Outside shell covered a thick sand camo paint. The thick paint was brushed to the shell. There is green, white, tan and red paint. Well over 90% are still in place. There the camo paint went off, original fieldgrey factory color can be seen.
White and green color spots to the inner shell and leather chin straps. Original rivets covered with camo paint as well.
Soft leather liner in slightly worn condition. Some stains. "Kopfweite: Gr. 59" and "Stahlhelm: Gr. 71" stamped. "Baumuster: Heisler Berlin C2 Hersteller: F.W. Müller jr." stamped.
First pattern chin straps from soft leather. Worn. Worn without a button.
