Nicely worn M38 Luftwaffe helmet. This pattern was only issued to paratroopers. This one was worn by a Fallschirmjäger named "Klingenstein". He named it "Klingenstein" to the liner (ink) and to the helmet shell (scratched in). The helmet is complete its leather liner and a set of second pattern chin straps. The chin strap button is PRYM 6 marked as it should be. The straps are still flexible and mounted to the original nuts and rivets. The rivets are a little loose since they have been opened once (for repairing the crack to the liner). However, the color of the helmet, the rivets and of course the named shell and lining indicate all parts did belong together like they are.
Soft leather liner with an "Reichsbetriebsnummer" stamp and size markings. The shell size is 71. The helmet liner size is 61.
The shell is "4081" lot numbered to the reverse. There are no other markings visible. The fielgrey factory paint covers nearly 90% of the shell. Replica eagle decal in museum's quality.
