Air Gunner Feldwebel Wilhelm Hoffmann was born on 8.4.1917 and served with the Luftwaffe throughout WW2. He was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class on 14.5.1940 during the France Campaign and the Iron Cross 1st Class just a few months later on 29.9.1940 serving with II./K.G.30.
Hoffmann was decorated with the Air Gunner Badge, the East Medal, the Narvik Shield and the Squadron Clasps for Kampfflieger in bronze, silver and gold serving with K.G.76 and K.G.30.
He was posthumously awarded the Luftwaffe Ehrenpokal after being reported as missed in action on 23.1.1943. The date of the Honor Goblet is 10.2.1943. Hoffmann was furthermore mentioned int he Ehrenliste der Deutschen Luftwaffe on 15.2.1943.
