Heer field tunic for Generals

Description

Clearly worn field blouse for an unknown "General der Kavallerie". There is an intial cloth tag applied to the lining showing the initials "AB".
There is a portrait photo of the Heer General Kurt von Tippelskirch which came with the tunic. It is definitely not the same tunic and there is no proof if he was the owner.

This General had his Generalmajor shoulder boards customized to cavalry pattern. Usually, general boards only existed with red backing, however, he had "goldgeld" color cloth backing applied for his personal taste. The board are applied by hand
Textbook red General collar tabs applied by machine. Excellent quality embroidering. There are no traces of previously attached tabs.
Buttons underneath the collar to attach a Knight's Cross ribbon.

Hand-embroidered General's breast eagle applied by hand. Three sets of clearly worn loops for three awards as well as loops for 9cm long ribbon bar.
Loops for a German Cross in gold. Black thread. Most probably postwar attached.

Gilt buttons. Most look re-attached. Silk lining without a tailor's or name tag.

Small moth holes and several small repairs. Signs of wear and age.
