Heer field tunic for officers

Description

Hauptmann Erst Schöbitz (30.11.1915 - 12.10.2003) served as a Gebirgsjäger after several years as a Luftwaffe officer flying for Aufklärungsgruppe 12. Quite an unusual, however, very successful career. Schöbitz was awarded the German Cross on 26.11.1943 and the Knight's Cross on 5.9.1944 serving with 11(H)/Aufklärungsgruppe 12.

Please see other lots to Schöbitz in this catalogue. Besides his personal field tunic, we have his photo grouping and visor cap available.

-

Absolutely untouched Heer field tunic for Gebirgsjäger Hauptmann Schöblitz. The tunic comes in nicely worn condition and without any damge. All insignia are definitely period time attached.

Hand-embroidered officer's breast eagle period time attached by hand. Machine-attached officer's tabs. Hand-attached Gebirgsjäger shoulder boards for a Hauptmann in green color.

Full originally attached buttons. Fine silk lining. No name tag but a "Wilhelm Welhausen" tailor's tag.

Medium size. Condition 2. "Been there" and "untouched". Rare!
