Heer assault gunner's wrapper (Sturmgeschütz)

Description

Field tunic (Feldanzug) for armoured vehicles troops mainly worn by Sturmgeschütz (grey) or Panzer (black) personnel. Collectors call it a "wrapper".

Fieldgrey assault gunner's wrapper with period time applied insignia. A rare variant with "wiesengrün" piped collar tabs worn by a Panzergrenadier.

Collar tabs: machine-woven EM type of tabs directly machine-attached to the collar. A light-green piping which was usually used for sidecap was attached by machine around it. This type of late-war "tab" can be seen on many period-time photos.
Shoulder boards: Slip-on board with "wiesengrün" piping from silk. Interesting pattern with a carboard inlay.
Breast eagle: Machine-woven. EM/NCO type. Factory attached by machine

Buttons: All buttons complete and period time attached with the same thread.
Lining: Fine light-grey linen lining. Partially torn and damaged. Size markings.

The right sleeve was period time repaired. You can see bits of cloth replaced and a hole repaired. This might be to an injury.
A few small holes mainly to the back. Generally, no moth damage.
