Description

Prussian bayonet M65/71, so-called "Hirschfänger M65".

The bayonet comes with a "Steckrückenklinge mit Schör" blade. "E.&H. Neuhaus Solingen" maker marked and marked with the letter "G" (= Gußstahl). On the other side of the blade is the acceptance mark "W 72".

Leather grip plates. Attached with 5 rivets. Stamped "2.J.3.93" on the crossguard (the unit was "deleted" - this happened when the bayonet was given to another unit). Furthermore stamped "P.K.V.St.30" on the handle.

Leather scabbard with nickel-plated iron fittings. The bayonet was "field grey" painted over (contemporary). Stamped "2.J.4.30" ("deleted") and "9.J.R229." on the back of the upper fitting. Numbered "71" on the stud.

Traces of use. An interesting bayonet!

Length: 66 cm.
