Description

Here one of the rarest variations of this medal, “For Bravery”.

The silver medal was only awarded 28 times for the wars of 1866 and for 1870/71.

Extremely rare and maybe a lifetime opportunity to own this medal.

Already Grad Duke Ludwig II. (1840-1848) had decided to award civil merit medals. Statues had already been written as of September 25, 1843. Proof medals had also been created featuring the grand duke on the avers and an empty field surrounded by a laurel wreath to create the medals with the appropriate inscriptions for the various reasons the medals would have been awarded. He did not survive his own idea and only his son started to finally make use of these medals, yet, featuring his portrait on the avers of the medal.
