Grand Cross set of the Saxon Ducal Saxe-Ernestine House Order in the style and model from after 1864, made from gold, silver and enamel. Both the cross and the star probably from the time shortly after the introduction of this model in mint condition without damage to the enamel. The motto still sowing "ET" instead of the “&” in the motto medallion ring on both cross and star. The crown on the cross still has arches with separately attached beads. The crown band, the lions and the connecting bridges to the crown as well as the bows of the green enameled oak leaf wreath were detailed by hand, which gives the cross a special brilliance. The star has a nice gold patina around the medallion and indicates that this set comes from an early production. The pearl-studded inner medallion ring is another attest or that. The golden ray pads are attached to the star body on the back with screws and are completely intact.
