Description

Important photo album to Generalfeldmarschall Walter von Reichenau's driver, Oberfeldwebel Helmut Friese. 

Walter von Reichenau (1884-1942). Adolf Htilter promoted him a Generalfeldmarschall during the 1940 Field Marshal Ceremony. He was involved in the Invasion of Poland, Battle of France and Operation Barbarossa. Awarded with the Knight's Cross on 30. September 1939. Von Reichenau died on 17. January 1942, due to a severe stroke.

The album documents the Invasion of Poland and the military service of Oberfeldwebel Helmut Friese. Nice shots of Walter von Reichenau, still in the rank of Generaloberst. Three photographs with Adolf Hitler. Two of them during of a visit to the troops. Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler can also be seen on these two photos. The first and last page in the photo album with a dedication by von Reichenau. Each signed. Dated "30.1.1940" and "July 1940". Furthermore an excellent portrait photo with a dedication to Oberfeldwebel Friese. Signed. In the photo von Reichenau wears the Knight's Cross.

Roughly 224 photographs in the album as well as 9 more photos loose. Total: roughly 233 photos.

Furthermore five period time visiting cards of  Oberfeldwebel Friese and three newspaper cuttings. One postwar document, dated "24.6.1945.
