Description

Heer officer's sabre to Knight's Cross Wener Grün how was awarded the Knight's Cross as commander of I./Panzer-Regiment 5 in North Africa. "His greatest success in this time took place on the 30./31.10.1942 while attacking as part of Kampfgruppe Pfeiffer on the northern sector of the El Alamein front, an attack which ultimately led to the relief of the Panzergrenadier-Regiment 125." The sabre was consigned by his son and was never available on the market before. It is 100% Grün's sabre!

Nickel-plated steel blade. "WKC" maker marked. Stains on both sides. Black celluloid grip with wire wrapping. Gilt brass hilt fittings. A separately attached national eagle on the front langet. Black factory painted steel scabbard. No dents. With the matching officer's portepee.
