Heer Panzer wrapper

Description
Extremely rare Heer black "wrapper" for a Panzeraufklärer Leutnant. The tunic comes with the breast eagle missing however with 101% original attached collar tabs and shoulder boards. That tunic was definitely worn by a Panzeraufklärer.

It was certainly not worn a lot. The condition is fantastic and there are no signs of wear. The Leutnant must have prepared it as his new wrapper but probably never had worn it in the field.

What this wrapper makes very special are the period time applied zippers to the cotton liner. Both should be working but we did not want to try it without putting a bit of oil on them first. There is no corrosion to the zinc.

The liner is 1940 dated and size stamped. The end of the sleeves have been close with a few stitches. They can be opened again. The wrapper was slightly shortened. All buttons are period time applied.

The collar tabs are attached by machine. In my opinion there were never skulls attached. This style is proofed by many period time photos. You can see any holes or shadows while you can see the stiching of the former breast eagle. There are a few threads left as well. in my opinion there was an officer's eagle which will be easy to re-attach if you want.

This tunic was not worn or used after the war. It was used exactly like this during the war.
