The Set if made form gilded silver and enamel. The center medallion on the grand cross and the breast star in fine and very detailed enamel painting. The set was made by Carvanzola in Rome, Italy and comes with its original sash. The Grand Cross shows a minor superficial chip in the white enamel of the medallion ring of the reverse. Grand Cross measures 58 x 58.5 mm, the star has a diamater of 88.1 mm.

Established in 1936, it is awarded by the Government of Guatemala. The award acknowledges officials of nations, organizations and other entities whose artistic, civic, humanitarian, or scientific works merit special recognition. The order can be awarded in 6 grades. Recipients are for example Benito Mussolini, Augusto Pinochet, Sophia of Spain, etc.
