A nice 1914 Iron Cross 1st Class. 

Three-part construction. Original black painted iron core. "800" silver hallmark to the reverse. Slightly curved. Lovely patina.

The Iron Cross was usually a military decoration only but awarded to civilians for performing military functions in a few instances.
