Important grouping to Oberstleutnant Horst von Petersdorff. Knight's Cross winner.

Horst von Petersdorff was born on 30.12.1892 in Posen. He served in WWI and was awarded several times. After the war he joined the Freikorps and already in 1925 the SA. NSDAP number 20736. At the beginning of the WWII he commanded the 3./Bataillon Infanterie-Regiment 189 and was involved in the French Campaign. On 29. June 1940 the Knight's Cross was awarded by Adolf Hitler to him. In July 1944, von Petersdorff was arrested in connection with the assassination attempt of 20. July 1944. In December 1944 he was acquitted by the Volksgerichtshof. Nevertheless, he was imprisoned in the Concentration Camp Buchenwald as a "Sonderhäftling" (special prisoner). On 30. April 1945 he was released together with over 140 prisoners in South Tyrol.

Roughly 49 white cardboard cards. Each card with a gilded national eagle of the Bundesrepublik Deutschland to the front. The edges are also gilded. Size each card: 10.5x4.3 cm. Original red cardboard box of issue. Two cracks to the bottom. Postwar.
