VIEW DESCRIPTION

This 4th class badge of the Order of the Cross of Takovo is made from silver and enamel. Ring has “FR” mark for the manufacturer Rothe in Vienna. The loop below the crown shows the array of Vienna control, silver content and marker's mark. This type was awarded from 1882 to 1903.

It was instituted in the Principality of Serbia in 1865 to mark the 50th anniversary of the Second Serbian Uprising against the Ottoman Empire, which had started in Takovo, Serbia. Mihailo Obrenović III, Prince of Serbia, created the order on May 22, 1865. The Order ceased to exist in 1903.
