Description

St. John. Certificates and documents. Comprehensive document lot of the Kgl. Prussian Order of St. John (Order of Merit) and the Ballei Brandenburg of the Evangelical Order of St. John, which was dissolved in 1811. But as early as 1812, Friedrich Wilhelm III. as an award for honorable service, the Royal Prussian Order of St. John, which was thus a Prussian Order of Merit. In contrast to most other Prussian orders, it had a corporate character, as it adopted numerous elements of the old Johanniter order. In 1852, King Friedrich Wilhelm IV of Prussia formally restored the Brandenburg Balllei. In 1853 Prince Carl of Prussia was solemnly appointed master of the order. Analogous to the eight Prussian church provinces, eight cooperatives were created: the provincial cooperatives of Prussia, Brandenburg, Pomerania, Posen-West Prussia, Silesia, Saxony, Westphalia and Rhineland.

Large, sealed superb certificate from 1843 with original signature of grandmaster, Prince Heinrich of Prussia, 32 x 45 cm. Admission and appointment as a knight for Carl Freiherr von Seckendorff. - Large sealed splendor certificate from 1873 with original master's, Carl Prince of Prussia. Appointment of Colonel retired Hermann von Wüschnitz on Eddenitz to the Knight of Honor of the Order. The receipt of his entrance fee (!) of 300 thalers and various correspondence with the Chancellor of the Ballei from the following years. - Great certificate dated 1897 with origninal signature prince Albrecht of Prussia. Appointment of the captain ... Hans Freiherr von Nordeck as Knight of Honor. Perforated. Embossed seal. - Certificate dated 1893 also with original signature of prince Albrecht of Prussia. Recording of the "Generalin" Magdalene von Klaas, born von Prittwitz as a serving sister. Embossed seal. - Two letters from the "Kgl. General-Ordens-Kommission" with original signature of Chancellor v. Luck from 1847 to Colonel a.D. Herwarth v. Bittenfeld: patent of the Order of St. John and the insignia.
