Description

Important grouping to prison guard Johann Adam. He was awarded the Honor Medal of the Ludwig Order for over 50 years of service. The Ludwig Order was instituted on August 25, 1826 by King Ludwig I. and was made from real gold.

A grouping of historical importance.

Four page award certificate to the Honor Medal of the Ludwig Order awarded to Johann Adam on August 29, 1917. Original signature of Staatsrat Wilhelm Ritter von Meinel. Adam confirmed the reception with a note "Am 7. September 1917 erhalten. Joh. Adam." Very good condition.

The actua golden medal is in very nice condition. Ring missing. Diameter: 40,3mm. Weight: 35gr. Including the original red case of issue with dark blue velvet inlay. Minor signs of use and small damage to the paper hinge. Opens and closes correctly.

Four page certificate for the Luitpold Cross issued to "dem Gefängniswärter bei dem Amtsgerichte Vilseck Johann Adam" for 40 years of service on May 16, 1911. Folded. The original ribbon accompagnies this group. but the actual cross was returned by Johann Adam after being awarded the Ludwig Order. He confirmed the return by a hand-written note to the reverse of the certificate:
"Betreff: Zurücklieferung des Luitpoldkreuzes
Nachdem mir durch allerhöchste Verleihung die Ehrenmünze dees K. Ludwigsordens zu Teil geworden ist, übersende ich beiliegend das mir seinerzeit verliehene Luitpoldkreuz gehorsamst. 
Johann Adam, Gefängniswärter"

Certificate to the "Kaiser Wilhelm I. Erinnerungsmedaille 1897", Centential Medal, issued to "Amtsgerichtsdiener Johann Adam in Vilseck" on 27.10.1898. "Königl. Bayer. Bezirksamt Amberg" stamped. Folded. Good condition.
Including the medal on original ribbon.

A postcard "Verband der Justiz-Beamten Bayerns (Zweig-Verein Amberg)" sent an 4.10.1917 to  "Hochwohlgeboren Herrn Joh. Adam, Kgl. Gefäng. - Wärter" congratulating Adam to the award of the Ludwig Order.

Zur allerhöchsten Auszeichnung anlässliche Ihres 50 jährigen Dienstjubiläums meine und im Namen des Vereins herzlichsten Gratulation.
Mit Stolz und Hochschätzung nennen wir Ihren lieben Namen.

Mit kameradschaftlichem Verbandsgruß Ihr Lw. Engelmann ..."

Silver Merit Medal to the Order of Saint Michael in original case of issue. 1870/71 War Medal for non-combantants. A 25 years Faithful Service Cross awarded by an unknown association in red award case. Unknown blue award case. Slightly damaged.

Award certificate to Ludwig Kainz for the Prinz Alfons Shooting Badge including the actual badge. 

1939 War Merit Cross 2nd Class award certificate, cross and envelope to "Gruppenleiter Ludwig Farnbauer" issued by "Der Kommandierende General und Befehlshaber im Luftgau VII". Facsimile signature. Folded several times. Condition 3.
