An excellent enameled cross. Made from real silver. "900" silver hallmark to the attached suspension loop. The center medallion shows the crowned royal cipher of Danilo I. as well as the lettering "Prince of Montenegro". Made from real gold. The other side displays the institution date of “1852/1853" and the lettering "For Independence of Montenegro". Also in gold. "VM" (Vinc Mayer) maker marked to the suspension ring. Furthermore a hallmark with Diana's Head denoting manufacture in Vienna and silver content. Including the matching red/white sash.

Size: 50.08x73.62 mm (inclusive the crown).

Accompanied by the star of the order. It consists of sixteen armed silver stars with a fine enameled cross in the center. The center medallion shows the crowned royal cipher of Danilo I. and the lettering "Prince of Montenegro". Made from real gold. Pinback. "VINC. MAYR'S SÖHNE WIEN" maker marked to the reverse. Furthermore a silver hallmark on 6 o'clock arm with Diana's Head denoting manufacture in Vienna and silver content.
