Prussia - helmet for a Garde du Corps officer with spike and eagle


Description

M1867 helmet for a Prussian "Garden du Crops" officer. Gilt Helmet with "Neusilber" bordering. Extra holes to the top to mount the service spike as well as the parade eagle. Silvered "Garde" front badge with enameled black eagle and the motto "SUUME CUIQUE".  

Brass chain with both officer's cockades in place. Sweat-band with ribbed silk lining. Signs of wear.
Leather backed front and rear visor. 

Impressive parade eagle. Real silver. Separately attached gilt crown. Maker marked. Excellent. 
Matching service spike in very nice condition.  Not all prongs complete.

Correct transportation case.
