Description

Luftwaffe paratrooper (Fallschirmjäger) jumping smock. A so-called "Knochensack". Smocks were made with green cloth as well as cloth showing a camo print. Tan & water camo, as well as splinter camo patterns, were issued. This example is the very first patterns in green color. A "step-in" pattern which was issued to paratroopers of the Crete campaign. 

This particular smock was published in "Fallschirmjäger, Volume 1" by Roly Pickering.

Zippers: All zippers are fully working. All are factory attached,
Top zippers: RAPID marked
Horizontal front zippers: RAPID marked

Vertical front zippers: RAPID marked

All press buttons are factory-attached PRMY 6 marked buttons. Fully working. 

Breast eagle: Machine-embroidered EM/NCO type. Correct type with green backing. Period time maschine-attached by the factory.

Lining:
Sleeve lining: grey cotton
Inner lining: Brownish cotton

Markings: Maker marked (hard to read) and "41" dated.

A fantastic early and extremely rare smock. Two period time repairs. Please see close-ups.
A few signs of wear and use. Patina.
