Description

Luftwaffe paratrooper (Fallschirmjäger) jumping smock. This particular smock was found in the Normandy area and was worn by a member of 5th Fallschirmjäger Division. It was published in the book "Dying for Saint-lo: Hedgerow Hell, July 1944" (page 111) and "Fallschirmjäger, Volume 1" by Roly Pickering. An important piece of history that was professionally restored to prevent it.

A so-called "Knochensack". Smock were made with green cloth as well as cloth showing a camo print. Tan & water camo, as well as splinter camo patterns, were issued. This example comes with a splinter camo pattern printed on the cloth. A rather late war issued example.
