Description

The Bravery Medal was created in 1789. The II. class was added in 1848 by Emperor Ferdinand I. Recipients of the bravery medal in gold and those of the silver medal I. or II. class received an honorary allowance since 1914.

Bravery Medal II. Class, Franz Josef I., 4th model, 1866-1917, by tool maker Tautenhayn, with the old-style ribbon device coined until 1916. This particular medal stems from an earlier coinage more towards the 1866 wars.
