Bavaria - Fire Brigade Honor Cross without Crown in red enamel


Description

The Fire Brigade Honor Cross was issued by the State’s fire brigade committee on September 26, 1925. The cross was awarded with and without crown suspension for either merit or excellent meritorious service to the fire brigades. The cross was either red enameled of blue. The blue color signifies a civilian award vs the red color an award to a fireman. The number of crosses awarded are as follows:

Type 1: for firemen in red enamel: 185 with crown, 321 without crown

Type 2: for civilians in blue enamel: 179 with crown, 1271 without crown

This silver and enameled cross come with original ribbon. Marked "1000" on the right cross arm.
