Medal Bar - To Lieutenant Colonel Kuno von Puttkamer


Description

This medal bar consists of the Prussian Iron Cross 2nd Class 1870, Prussian Red Eagle Order 4th Class (1854-1879), in silver and enamel, Prussian Long Service Cross for Officers for 25 years of service, Prussian War Commemorative Medal 1870/71, medal bar re-strike in bronze, Commemorative Cross “XXX” 1866, medal bar re-strike in bronze and the Russian Wladimir Order 4th Class with swords in gold and enamel.

The recipient, lieutenant colonel ret. Kuno Bogislaw Adolf von Puttkamer was born on May 3, 1837. He attended the school for cadets and joined thereafter the Ulan Regiment I. He rose to the rank of cavalry captain and took part in the Unification Wars. Then he was awarded the Wladimir Order the Class with swords as one of only 50 recipients as of his regimental chief was the czar of Russia. He transfers in 1875 to the Trainbatallion 8. In 1878 he became Commander of the Trainbataillion 4 and was 1886 put up for disposition with a pension with the rank of lieutenant colonel
