Untouched family consigned grouping to Leutnant Tröger. Tröger, possibly a WW1 veteran, served as a Leutnant with Artillerie-Regiment 46 which was based in Amberg, Bavaria, his hometown.

The grouping was found in a large size wooden officer's case in August 2021 and containing an impressive amount of WWI and WWII militaria. Please see other items from Tröger's family listed in this catalogue.

A lovely miniature ensemble consisting of a boutonniere and actual miniature chain with a St. Michael Order 4th Class with Crown and the extremely rare Ludwig Order Honor Cross for Long Service.

The cross was given to army officers, court and state servants as well as clergymen with the rank of council. The honor decoration was intended for people of lower rank. When calculating the service time, the service time of soldiers in the field counted twice. The award was given retrospectively to people who had already reached their 50th anniversary at the time of the foundation.

Fantastic condition despite the Michael order having an almost invisible hairline crack. Golden Chain and golden Ludwig cross in fine detailed enamel.
