Description

This Grand Cross Star of the Military Merit Order of Christ is the I. Type, in Gold and enamel. Center fixed to the star body by means of an iron screw, the bleeding heart by golden screw, on double needle. The order was founded in succession to the order of the knight templar from 1319.

Fantastic condition for a star from around 1850.
