Jubilee medal on Luise's finest hour:

Luise von Sachen Weimar experienced her greatest hour after the double battle of Jena and Auerstedt (10.14.1806). Napoleon entered Weimar, where his soldiers plundered. Carl August stood in the field as a Prussian general, while Luise was the only member of the family who stay behind in the residence. She received Napoleon 10.15.1806 , who greeted her with cold reverence. However, she had two talks with him the next day. She countered his evil omissions against the absent duke, whose deposition he was threatening, by pointing out that Napoleon knew how to appreciate that many years of military service required loyalty even more in times of need. The steadfast dignity with which the lonely, ageing princess stood up for her husband and her country made an impression on the emperor, who held a lasting respect for Luise, which had been shown on many occasions.  Luise managed to omit the looting and subsequently to keep the country with the ancestral dynasty.
