Description

Very rare Olympic grouping to Eduard "Edy" Schmid. Schmid was part of the Swiss field handball team, which won the Bronze Medal at the Olympic Games Berlin 1936.

With the original certificate to the Bronze Medal. The top shows the Olympic Stadium Berlin, the Brandenburg Gate, and the Olympic rings as well as the inscription "ZUR EHRE DES VAERLANDES ZUM RUHME DES SPORTS". Below is the text "XI. OLYMPIADE BERLIN 1936 - EHRENURKUNDE - SCHWEIZ DITTER HANDBALL". Facsimile signatures by Dr. Theodor Lewald, President of the Organizing Committee, and Baillet-Latour, IOC President. Between them are the Olympic rings. Desinged by Prof. Ernst Böhm and printed by Erasmusdruck GMBH Berlin. Beautiful gold print background. Period time framed.

Official Olympic Games ID card. Original attached photo of Edy Schmid. "13245" numbered. Issued in Lausanne on 16. July 1936. Schmid was born on 3. May 1911 in Zurich.
